Hope all good with you and yours and that you had a wonderful Halloween break. In case you have not heard our Autumn news, we’re delighted to announce that Thatcher’s Rest Cottage recently won the Best Holiday Home Beach House Award in the 2016 European Holiday Home Awards.
We were truly delighted when we heard we had made it to the shortlist of just eight houses. The win is still sinking in, especially given some of the beautiful properties in places such as Croatia, Cornwall, Germany and Denmark. It’s a great accolade, not only for us, but also for The Boyne Valley and Ireland’s Ancient East, a wondrous treasure trove for our visitors.

The superb collective team behind The Boyne Valley Food Series scooped the prestigious title of Ireland’s Foodie Destination 2016 after a rigorous few weeks of applications, town visits and over 10,000 online votes! From tapas and Food Safaris to innovative strategies for growth and development, they set the benchmark for food tourism in Ireland.

The Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, this week announced €445k in funding from Fáilte Ireland’s Capital Grants Allocation for 2016 for two key projects at Newgrange and Knowth in County Meath, the birth place of Ireland’s Ancient East.
All of these excellent achievements can only enhance your stay at The Cottages.
