It’s all happening this Autumn in the Boyne Valley and the surrounding area so we thought we’d introduce you to some of the magic together with the special option of a 2 night stay at The Cottages.
There are lot’s of things happening from Laytown Races to the Boyne TRADFEST, from the Boyne Walking Festival to the LU Festival of Light. Whatever your gig you can enjoy it from your dream cottage by sea.
Laytown Races
16th September 2024
Our very own unique event, one of the last remaining strand races in the world. Run each year when the tide is out as far as it can go, the races start at a tremendous gallop, with great excitement! Located right on the 3 Furlong mark there’s no better place to stay and view the races.
Bellewstown races have several days of fun and racing on the Hill this season running through to October.
Fancy something a little more sedate…
Apart from all our wonderful local café’s and coffee shops here are a couple of new suggestions.
Bective Tearooms
Bective tearooms are situated in one of the old cottages on the Bective Stud farm. Here customers of the tearooms may also enjoy a newly opened 3.5km woodland walk.
The tearooms are open from Monday to Saturday 9am to 4pm.

Their Autumn/Winter line up is very diverse from Phil Coulter to Ruby Wax, Onóir and many more.

Oldbridge Battle of the Boyne Farmer’s Market

Farmer’s markets kinda dropped off the radar the past few years so it’s extra special to have Oldbridge House Farmer’s Market to enjoy.
1st September, is the last one of the year so don’t miss out, with food and craft stalls, coffee wagon and café, visit the stunning walled gardens, the Battle of the Boyne visitor centre or stroll through the gorgeous gardens and along canal banks for a great day out for all the family.
Boyne Valley Walking Festival

Boyne Valley Trails are hosting the Boyne Valley Walking Festival for the second year running. With 18 Events there is something for every level, being fit was never so much fun Trails and Trad await.
Boyne TRADFEST
20th – 22nd September
Drogheda has always been a Mecca for traditional Irish music attracting musicians from all over. This year’s TRADFEST will be no exception with over 35 performers over 3 days, venues will be bursting with traditional Irish music & song!
With transport running every 15 minutes into Drogheda it’s easy to hop a bus and not have to think about driving.
Lú Festival of Light
25th October – 3rd November 2024
The Festival of Light will once again illuminate the night sky over Drogheda this Autumn. With spectacular light shows throughout the town.
Bram Stoker Festival
25th – 28th October
Abraham ‘Bram’ Stoker was an Irish Author best known for his 1887 Gothic horror novel ‘Dracula’. Each year his work is celebrated with a programme of literary, cultural, contemporary and family events held in Dublin.
Puca Festival
The Puca Festival once again will host shows, fairs and entertainment throughout Louth and Meath this Halloween. Festivities start on 31st Oct with the lighting of the Samhain Fire in Athboy and will continue through the whole bank holiday weekend.
The Spirits of Meath
4th October – 10th November 2024
The Spirits of Meath Events are back when the Boyne Valley comes alive with celebrating the ancient Celtic Festival of Halloween, this is where it all began! Promises ‘Fun by Day’ and ‘Frights by Night’ Spooks and Spirits this Autumn.
