A very big welcome to our Spring Newsletter, it’s been such a long-awaited Spring this year as it’s been for lots of you our guests around the world.
Spring
Our little green house by the sea is at full throttle producing lots of interesting plants for the cottage gardens. The Boyne Valley Garden Trail offers a great choice of superb gardens to visit during your stay.
Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann 2018
The Big Boyne Valley Event this year is of course Fleadh Ceoil na hEireann from 12th – 19th August, it’s proving to be a continuous build up to the big event with Gigs and Celebrities springing up all over the place in preparation. Drogheda is taking centre stage as the true traditional music & cultural centre that it has always been.
The recent Drogheda Arts Festival Event at Beaulieu House this May Bank Holiday gave us a taste of just one of the superb experiences in store for us at venues around Drogheda, how magical it’s going to be during Fleadh week.
Book Bru na Boinne Online
DO REMEMBER to book Bru na Boinne online. Plan ahead and book your tour it makes for a wonderfully smooth visit to this Mystical World Heritage Site.
150 years of Laytown Races
Laytown Races are Celebrating 150 years on September 6th, promising to be an extra special race meeting. Here is some footage from a 1921 British Pathe Newsreel, found in 2013 by Roger Lawlor.

Foodie News
The Boyne Valley Flavours Events Guide is packed full of extra special days and nights out to tantalize your taste buds. We’re particularly happy to have Drummond House growing wonderful asparagus just across the river, can’t get much fresher than that.
Available at Forge Field Farm Shop in Termonfeckin where you can also indulge in delicious coffee and home-made yummys.
The Village Hotel and Gastropub
We’re excited at the prospect of having the Village Hotel re-opening next month together with their Gastropub. Head Chef Robert Sabongi promises to deliver delicious seafood together with the very best of local Boyne Valley produce. The Gastropub is a sister venue to the Black Bull Inn in Drogheda long renowned for good food and comfortable surroundings.
Slane Distillery
Brown’s Café and Gandon Room Restaurant at Slane Distillery are also proving very popular Foodie destinations with our guests. A great place to lunch or dine after your whiskey tour. Did you know that Irish Whiskey is spelt with and ‘e’ and Scotch Whisky isn’t! Not a lot of people know that :0)
